Keep watch over your listings. Know the moment something looks copied.

Craftwatch continuously monitors Etsy for listings that look like they're using your product photos or design, and alerts you with a plain-English report and side-by-side evidence for each one. What you do with it is entirely your call — and if you decide a copy is worth acting on, we hand you the organized evidence to make that easy.

A one-time monitoring snapshot, emailed to you. No card required. No commitment. Nothing to upload — we use your shop's own listing photos as the reference.

How it works

1

We monitor

Craftwatch watches Etsy for listings that match your product photos, keywords, and brand name — looking for things like reused images, mirrored or cropped photos, and copied designs. It runs every 2-3 days, so you're not the one refreshing search results.

2

We alert you, with the evidence

When something turns up, you get a plain-English report: a side-by-side comparison, a similarity score, and a one-line note on why it was flagged. Before anything reaches you, a second, independent pass tries to argue the listing is not a copy — we'd rather under-flag than hand you a false alarm.

3

You decide

Some copies aren't worth your time; some are. That call is yours. When you do decide one's worth acting on, the report already has the organized evidence — and, if you want it, a pre-filled notice you can review and file yourself. We never file anything for you.

You're always the one who decides. Craftwatch's job is to watch and to show you the evidence clearly. Whether a listing is worth acting on — and what to do about it — is your call as the rights holder, and any formal step is one you review and submit yourself.

What's in your report

Subject: Your Craftwatch listing check — listings worth your attention on Etsy
  • Candidate listingsListings that may be using your images or design, with a link to each one so you can see it yourself.
  • Side-by-side comparisonsYour reference photo next to theirs, so the match is easy to judge at a glance.
  • A similarity score, in plain EnglishNot just a number — a one-line explanation, like "near-identical after mirroring," so you know why it was flagged.
  • Listing factsSeller, price, marketplace, and first-seen date for every candidate.
  • An honest confidence splitHigh-confidence candidates we think are worth acting on, and a separate lower-confidence list we're not yet sure enough about to recommend action.

What we don't check (yet): marketplaces beyond Etsy — eBay is next, but is not live yet and we don't charge for it until it is — re-shot or re-created products (harder to match than reused photos), framed wall art and printable/digital art (photos of framed artwork are dominated by the frame and the wall, so our matching isn't accurate enough there yet), and listings in languages we don't yet support. We'll always tell you what we monitored and what we didn't.

Frequently asked questions

What does the subscription actually do?

It watches. Every 2-3 days, Craftwatch checks Etsy for listings that look like copies of yours and emails you the ones worth a look, with side-by-side evidence — but only when something new turns up, so a quiet stretch doesn't mean inbox clutter. It's a monitoring service — a flat monthly subscription for continuous coverage, not a per-result fee. What you do with an alert is up to you.

Do you act on a copy for me?

No — and that's a deliberate design choice, not a gap. If you decide a listing is worth reporting to the marketplace, that report is a legal statement made under penalty of perjury, and the law puts that responsibility on you as the rights holder. Services that submit on a customer's behalf have been sued over exactly that (a case called Unlimited Cellular v. Red Points is part of why we built it this way). So we do the watching and the evidence, and we'll hand you a pre-filled notice if you want one — but you review it and submit it yourself. You stay in control.

If I report a copy, will it be removed?

That's the marketplace's decision, never ours, and anyone who promises you a guaranteed outcome is promising something outside their control. What we can do is make sure that if you choose to act, you're doing it from a well-organized, well-evidenced starting point instead of a blank form.

Which marketplaces do you cover?

Etsy today. eBay is built and waiting on marketplace approval; it's included at no extra cost the day it goes live. We're adding more as we validate image matching quality on each one — we'd rather cover a marketplace well than cover it fast.

What if a listing you flag turns out not to be a copy?

That's the mistake we're most careful to avoid. Every high-confidence candidate goes through a second, independent review that specifically tries to argue it's not a copy before it ever reaches you. We'd rather miss a real one than send you a false alarm — we surface possible copies for you to judge, never accusations.

What happens if a seller pushes back?

If a seller you've flagged presents counter-evidence, we'll help you re-examine it — refusing to reconsider a flagged listing when the evidence changes is its own kind of risk, and we'd rather build that in from the start.

Is the free check really free?

Yes. Send us your brand name, a handful of product photos, and where you sell, and we'll email you a one-time monitoring snapshot. No card required, no commitment to subscribe.
